795nm Laser System for Quantum Memory Test System
Delivery of a 795nm laser system for the construction of a quantum memory test system with rubidium gas at the Institute for Quantum Technology in Ulm: two laser diodes with narrow linewidth, which must operate at slightly different, precisely adjusted frequencies to address the signal transition and the control transition in Rubidium-87. The lasers must excite two specific transitions of the D1 line of Rubidium-87. At least one of the lasers must be stabilized to one of the two atomic lines; the second laser will either be operated on the other line or preferably phase-locked with the first laser with a frequency offset of 6.835 GHz (offset-locking), controlled by a microwave frequency reference. A common control system for coordinating both lasers is required. Further information is available in the tender documents.
