Road maintenance for the BAB 73

Road maintenance for the BAB 73: Renewal of the surface and binder course (ACD+ACB) and partial replacement of the asphalt base course (ACT) over approximately 5.5 km for both directions, executed in 3 traffic and construction phases. This includes milling an ACD+ACB layer made of stone mastic asphalt and an ACT layer, wedge milling of the ACT in areas of cross-slope changes, removal and new construction of slot drains in the expansion area. The ACT and the surface courses ACD+ACB are to be constructed using stone mastic asphalt across the entire width and length, including all marking works using cold plastic compounds with aggregates or cold spray plastic.

Conversion of Vehicle Restraint Systems

Removal and new installation of steel vehicle restraint systems (Eco-Safe, SUPER-RAIL Eco, SUPER-RAIL Eco doppelt, SUPER-RAIL VZB, and SUPER-RAIL Eco BW) over approximately 5.5 km for 2 directions of travel in 3 phases (pre-phase, main phase, and post-phase). Selective installation of restraint systems occurs on bridges, retaining walls, or strip foundations. The pre-phase involves opening median crossovers. The main phase includes the removal of existing vehicle restraint systems at the outer edge and in the median (both strands); the installation of new vehicle restraint systems in the median and at the outer edge; a further removal of existing systems at the outer edge; and the installation of new systems in the median and at the road edge. These works are carried out parallel to the works of the main contractor for the route. The post-phase involves closing remaining median crossovers.
