Ground investigation for the R250 – Droichead an Churraoin Road Realignment: Detailed ground investigations to support the detailed design of the scheme. The investigations will extend over the entire length of the proposed road development. Ground investigation points will be carried out in areas of existing and new road construction, supplemented by several trial pits in greenfield sites. The objective is to ascertain ground and groundwater conditions along the route of the R250 – Droichead an Churraoin Road Realignment and to investigate identified anomalies. The Droichead an Churraoin bridge, approximately 1.3 km west of Fintown, Co. Donegal, is a narrow masonry arch structure with a span of 1.83 m and a width of 5.28 m.
