Inventory and Distribution Assessment of Beaver and Otter in Lower Silesia

Inventory of European Beaver (Castor fiber) and Eurasian Otter (Lutra lutra) in Lower Silesian Voivodeship: preparation of a report, analysis of available source and archival materials, development of field study methodology, execution of field inventory in two research seasons, assessment of distribution and population size of both species, assessment of habitat quality and conservation status, identification of ecological corridors, identification of threats and conflicts, assessment of the importance of beaver activity for water retention including the impact of beaver dams and impoundments on local water conditions, creation of GIS spatial analyses, preparation of a partial report and a final report with photographic documentation and databases. Transfer of intellectual property rights is foreseen.
