Cybersecurity of operating systems in software-defined vehicles
Study on the cybersecurity of operating systems in software-defined vehicles: Creation of an overall overview of embedded operating systems (including virtualization environments) used in vehicles and assessment of their cybersecurity properties. This includes considering operating conditions (hardware platforms, access possibilities to control units) and the interaction of operating systems within the overall vehicle architecture. A review of current market systems and standards, as well as an outlook on future developments, is planned. Requirements for vehicle operating systems from a cybersecurity perspective are to be derived from valid regulations and standards, including requirements for tests within the scope of type approval and market surveillance. In addition to source research for the market overview, practical analyses on various operating systems are to be carried out within work package 5 (AP 5), where a test catalog to be developed shall be practically verified.
