Earthworks, water management, hydraulic engineering, road construction, and landscaping for the ecological improvement North: demolition of existing concrete base shells and other fortifications, earthworks for the creation of the new watercourse cross-section, creation of the replacement floodplain using bed substrate, creation of in-stream safeguards (e.g., bed sills), connection and redesign of inlets, adaptation of two culverts for ecological continuity, vegetation-technical works, new construction of footpaths and cycle paths; soil removal is handled via a framework agreement of Emschergenossenschaft.
