Earthworks and Shell Construction for Cryo-Storage Expansion University Hospital Halle
Shell construction for the new build of a cryo-storage facility with a basement storage building and connecting structure to an existing building on the University Medicine Halle campus: site setup, earthworks, shoring, and dewatering, reinforced concrete and masonry work, as well as sealing, insulation, and plastering. This includes the creation of building pits with approximately 2,300 m³ of soil excavation, utilization or disposal of excavated material, shoring, and open dewatering. The basement of the storage building will be constructed as a waterproof reinforced concrete structure, including reinforced concrete foundations and floor slabs, basement exterior and interior walls, reinforced concrete ceilings, stairs, and ring beams with formwork and reinforcement. The floor slab of the storage building has an area of approximately 300 m² and a thickness of approximately 50 cm. Furthermore, approximately 100 m² of sand-lime brick masonry in the basement and approximately 190 m² of load-bearing clay block masonry, d = 30 cm, on the ground floor are planned. Additionally, perimeter insulation and sealing work on earth-contacting components, as well as plastering, are included. Demolition, bricking up, and connection work are to be carried out on the existing building for the new connecting structure, with the existing area remaining partially in use during construction. The scope of services also includes individual shell construction and ancillary services for technical building equipment, further items as per the tender documents.
