Operationalization of Climate Adaptation Indicators in the Building Sector

Research project for the operationalization of climate adaptation indicators in the building sector: Fulfillment of legal obligations from the Federal Climate Adaptation Act (KAnG) for the BMWSB's area of responsibility, preparation of results for the 2028 update of the German Climate Adaptation Strategy (DAS). Central to this is the one-time operationalization of six core indicators, including methodology finalization, data collection, processing, evaluation, presentation in factsheets, and provision of raw and analyzed data. Another work package includes the evaluation and revision of existing measures and instruments of the climate adaptation strategy in the building sector, including content review, supplementation, and further development. Additionally, management and quality assurance tasks will be performed, including the development of a workflow for automated raw data evaluation and presentation, and data delivery for DAS reporting to BMUKN and UBA. An overarching work package bundles coordinating and supporting tasks; reporting forms a separate package. Optional components include data and map visualization (e.g., in a dashboard) and the one-time operationalization of two additional indicators.
