Research project for strengthening warning effectiveness through community-based approaches

Research project for strengthening warning effectiveness: Investigation into how warning authorities can better integrate civil society networks and intermediary structures into warning preparedness communication and actual warnings, aiming to establish lasting connections between warning authorities and representatives and organizations of diverse target groups. This includes literature research, development of a concept for the BBK to identify warning needs of various population groups and communicate civil protection risks in exchange with civil society actors, development of a guideline for municipalities on community-based risk and crisis communication and establishing long-term trusting exchanges with intermediary actors, and support for a pilot municipality to test the developed methods and formats.
