Landscape Architecture Services for Extension New Build at Rußhütte Saarbrücken Primary School

Planning of outdoor facilities for the new construction of two extension buildings at the Montessori Primary School Rußhütte-Saarbrücken: The building extensions include an annex to the primary school building and an annex to the after-school care building. An area of approximately 900 m² is available for the design of an open space with play and movement activities (climbing, balancing, parkour-like movement areas) for children aged 5 to 13 years, considering existing tree locations. The terrain has a slope of approximately 8%, which is to be used as a design element and integrated into the play concept; necessary terrain modeling should be executed with mass balance where possible. The planning also includes the fencing of the playground along the street, supplemented by vegetative elements, and the redesign of the connection areas between new buildings and existing outdoor facilities, including adjustment of pathways and surface coverings. A new parking area is to be implemented in the planning. Planning is to be coordinated with building architects and specialist planners. New plantings of trees and flowering deciduous trees are foreseen to compensate for removed trees, and new tree locations on the existing parking area in front of the "after-school care" extension building are desired. The outdoor area should be characterized by natural, durable, robust, and easy-to-maintain materials. Interventions in the root areas of existing trees are to be minimized. Barrier-free access and connection of all buildings and outdoor facilities are to be aimed for. All relevant technical regulations, standards, and guidelines must be observed.
