Geophysical investigation for critical raw materials and deep geothermal energy exploration in the Brabant Massif
Notice title: Geofysisch onderzoek ter ondersteuning van de exploratie naar kritieke grondstoffen en diepe aardwarmte – Massief van Brabant
Geophysical investigation in the Brabant Massif (Flanders): gravimetric and magnetotelluric (MT) measurements for geological exploration of mineralisation and deep geothermal energy. The investigation covers two study areas with a fixed and an optional part. The first study area (approx. 11–16 km²) in the south-western part of Flemish Brabant requires additional gravimetric measurements for data refinement with an average resolution of 4 measurements per km², supplemented by MT measurements along several transects. The gravimetric measurements and half of the MT measurements constitute the fixed part. The second half of the MT measurements is optional. A potential second study area in Southern West Flanders, a prospecting area for deep geothermal energy, is an integral part of the optional portion and includes MT measurements to clarify the geological structure, especially fault zones. Services include conducting the measurements, processing raw data into interpretable results, and an initial, large-scale interpretation of the results.
