Scaffolding and Weather Protection for Karstula Church and Bell Tower
Scaffolding and weather protection: Total contract for the facade renovation and roof repair of Karstula Church (built 1853) and its Bell Tower (built 1815/1861). The solution must adapt to the church's geometry (multi-dimensional cross-church, lower transepts, higher/narrower central dome). The buildings are protected monuments; cultural and architectural historical values and principles agreed with the National Board of Antiquities must be observed. The church roof will be renewed as a seamed sheet metal roof, including the renewal of the foot gutter, roof hatches, and improvement of the lower parts of the downpipes; ladders and walkways will be equipped with safety rails. Patch repairs will be carried out on the bell tower roof. The church and bell tower will receive maintenance painting, with old paint layers largely removed. The windows of the upper church areas will be renovated from the scaffolding during summer 2027.
