Total Contract for Accessibility Renovation of Rauma Maritime Museum

Total contract for the accessibility renovation of the Rauma Maritime Museum: includes all construction, HVAC, and electrical works, as well as logistical arrangements. A lift connecting all three floors will be installed in the eastern part of the building. The existing spiral staircase from the first floor to the attic will be replaced with a new, safer two-flight emergency staircase. Surfaces and storage solutions in an office room will be renewed. Public toilets to be demolished for the lift will be replaced by two new accessible WCs; additionally, a new staff WC will be built. A new accessible entrance in the basement will be created by replacing the current wooden door with a steel-framed glass door. Necessary modifications will be made in the basement area, including excavation for the lift shaft foundations and renewal of the main drain. The area around the new entrance will be paved, and lighting will be improved. In the attic, a new storage room will be separated from the multi-purpose room by a partition wall; simultaneously, the floor covering in the eastern part of the attic will be renewed. In the main floor exhibition rooms, wooden ramps will be constructed at door thresholds to improve accessibility. Estimated start of works is October-November 2026, with completion by March 31, 2027. A mandatory site visit will take place on August 18, 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 and on August 19, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 at Rauma Maritime Museum, Kalliokatu 34, 26100 Rauma. The contract type is a fixed-price contract.
