Fabrication of PMMA Domes for Anti-Implosion Covers of 20-inch Photomultipliers for Hyper-Kamiokande

Fabrication of Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA UVT) Domes: Thermoforming of PMMA UVT sheets with very high UV transparency into anti-implosion covers for 20-inch photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) of the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. The covers consist of a steel part for the rear and a PMMA UVT part for the front, with PMMA UVT sheets requiring a thickness of 13 mm to ensure the necessary mechanical resistance. The thermoforming process must minimize UV transparency reduction and prevent dust or impurities from adhering.
