Design and Manufacturing of two Metallic Stop Logs for Kain and Hérinnes Locks (Haut-Escaut)

Design and manufacturing of two metallic stop logs: two stop logs with a span of 14 meters for dewatering the Haut-Escaut locks at the Kain and Hérinnes sites. The stop logs must be compatible with the existing structures, which are designed for inland waterway traffic of class Va. The total height of a stop log is 6 meters. A stop log may consist of several distinct elements assembled with watertight joints and must be dimensioned according to current regulations, especially Eurocodes. Particular attention is to be paid to the number of joints and the unit weight of the elements due to the difficult accessibility of the sites for high-capacity lifting equipment. The contract includes the on-site verification of all dimensions for workshop drawings, the provision of a complete execution calculation note including handling instructions, the manufacturing of the stop logs in the workshop, transport to a storage site (Kain, Hérinnes, or another SPW VH Tournai site to be defined), and the supply of a best practice guide for the service life of the structure, including storage, joint replacement, anti-corrosion painting, safety instructions for handling operations, and the "As-built" documentation. The overall execution period for the contract is 240 calendar days.
