Artificial Intelligence Gigafactories: Selection of Consortia and Establishment of AI Gigafactories

Selection of consortia for the establishment of AI Gigafactories and procurement of compute access time: Establishment of 4 consortia, each capable of deploying a medium-scale AI Gigafactory project. This includes the selection of AIGF consortia following rigorous evaluation and the establishment of a framework for the joint acquisition of guaranteed AI compute access time. An AIGF is a state-of-the-art large-scale facility with sufficient capacity to handle the complete lifecycle, from development to large-scale inference, of very large AI models and applications. It provides a supercomputing service infrastructure composed of AI-optimized computing capacity, a supporting data center infrastructure including high-capacity storage and networking, dedicated secure cloud user access environments, and specialized secure AI-oriented support services for its advanced operations. The entire infrastructure is supported by an environmentally sustainable infrastructure, particularly for energy and water supply systems.
