Feasibility study for the sustainable improvement of the ecological and hydrological condition of the Rögnitz river: The Rögnitz river forms the state border between Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for approximately 15 km. Its water body ROEG-0300 covers a river stretch of 54 km, characterized as a sand and loam-dominated lowland river (LAWA-Typ 15). The ecological status is currently rated as "unsatisfactory" and the chemical status as "not good". The objective is to achieve a good ecological and chemical status and a more resilient landscape water balance, considering nature conservation and agricultural goals. This requires a holistic view of the water body ROEG-0300 and the adjacent lowlands, including the influence of tributaries. The study aims to create a basis for addressing implementation deficits of existing concepts. This includes an overview of available data and working documents, the consolidation and evaluation of existing WRRL management objectives, concepts, and studies, the determination of the need for further data collection, and the definition of short-, medium-, and long-term steps and action priorities, further items as per the tender documents.
