Mechanical Cleaning Stage for Heidelsheim Wastewater Treatment Plant
Renovation of the screen building at the Heidelsheim wastewater treatment plant: Dismantling and replacement of all existing mechanical and electrical equipment, with the exception of the sand classifier. The existing sand classifier will be rotated by approx. 180° to discharge sand into external REKI boxes. Installation of a provisional wastewater retention and screen system with pumps and a mobile container. The new screen system comprises 2 screen lines, each with a rake screen and a screenings wash press. One screen line can process up to 500 l/s in normal operation, and 1,000 l/s during revision. The pressed screenings are discharged into the existing screenings container. Ventilation of the hall and screens is provided by two separate ventilation systems; the hall's air exchange is 700 m³/h. Supply air is drawn in via a weather protection grille, passes through an air filter, and is heated in a heating register that can be bypassed. The screens are connected to a common exhaust air duct, with 3,500 m³/h of air drawn from the channel over the screens.
