Metal Construction Works for Terminal 1 Restructuring, Frankfurt Airport
Metal construction works for the spatial restructuring of the high Hall B Mitte area and adjacent shopping areas in Terminal 1, Building 203 of Frankfurt Airport, covering approximately 16,000 m² on levels E02, E03, and E04: Execution of interior doors (sheet steel doors, wood/HPL doors in sheet steel frames, tubular frame doors made of steel or aluminum, special elements and components with safety-related requirements), delivery and installation of gate and curtain systems for fire and smoke protection, and folding grille systems for night closure of retail areas. Metal cladding, primarily made of suspended panels, is to be partially dismantled, reassembled, and newly manufactured. Necessary steel substructures for doors, gates, and wall cladding are also to be executed. Interventions in existing post-and-beam glass facades include the conversion of glazing and panels into temporary and permanent ventilation openings, as well as the new installation of emergency exit doors. An interior facade area is to be completely dismantled. Existing doors are to be dismantled and disposed of during the new installation. Execution begins in the 2nd quarter of 2027, with completion in the 2nd quarter of 2031.
