Redesign of the Permanent Exhibition for the NS Documentation Center Cologne

Scenographic planning services for the redesign of the permanent exhibition at the NS Documentation Center Cologne (EL-DE-Haus): Processing of approximately 1,780 m² of space regarding monument preservation, structural engineering, and building services for the establishment of a completely new permanent exhibition. The total budget is a maximum of 6,119,580 € (gross), of which 1,280,504 € (gross) are for structural measures, technical installations, and outdoor facilities (incl. HOAI fees) and 4,839,076 € (gross) for exhibition design, planning, and realization (HOAS (2)). The award procedure is a negotiated procedure with a prior call for competition based on §17 VgV. Required qualifications include experience in designing memorial sites or contemporary history exhibitions with a National Socialist context, as well as planning expertise in conversions, extensions, and dismantling in monument protection for museums or exhibition buildings. Bidding consortia are permitted. Applications for participation can be submitted until July 14, 2026. Four (maximum five) bidders will be invited to submit concept sketches for partial aspects and a price offer according to HOAS (2); the concept sketches will be remunerated with 6,000 € (net).
