Study on atmospheric vertical sounding: Investigation into future methods for capturing the physical state of the atmosphere for the German Armed Forces. The collected data will be used in weather forecasting models and for the operation of specific weapon systems. The current method of vertical sounding using radiosondes is to be examined for future viability and tactical aspects. New procedures or technical developments for basic operations and national and alliance defense are to be identified and evaluated based on user requirements and scenario considerations. A particular focus is on preventing detection by enemy forces through visual or radio signal-identifying reconnaissance. The study results are to be confirmed using a demonstrator to test a concept for future atmospheric vertical sounding. Further details as per the statement of work.
