Periodical monitoring of technical installations: The monitoring includes technical installations such as HVAC, plumbing, sanitary installations, drainage, water and gas supply, electricity (HV and LV), lighting, emergency lighting, emergency generators, lightning protection, distribution boards, UPS systems, equipotential connections, and earthing. Also included are building elements such as access points, doors, windows, locks, outer walls, external carpentry, wall covering, flooring, ceilings, roofs, parking areas, and gutters. The installations are located on the 38-hectare JRC-Geel site, which contains approximately 20 buildings. Work in controlled areas for radiation protection purposes requires prior approval by a recognized company doctor and security clearance for staff (contractor and subcontractors). The objective is to audit maintenance performance and objectively evaluate the status of the installations.
