Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometer: The device weighs approximately 30 kg and has a power requirement of < 300 W. It is used for field campaigns, for example in Arctic regions, where power supply must be self-generated using solar panels and wind turbines. The device is used in combination with a separately procured gas chromatograph module to enable precise molecular separation with a very low detection limit (approx. 10 ppt). This is necessary for measuring very low hydrocarbon concentrations in Arctic areas.
