Framework Agreement for Habitat and Habitat Type Maps for Natura 2000 Areas, 2027-2030

Creation of and advice on habitat type maps and nitrogen-sensitive habitat type maps for Natura 2000 areas, for which the Province of Gelderland is the lead, during the period 2027 to 2030. The maps are based on existing data (especially vegetation mapping in combination with aerial photographs), supplemented by field controls where necessary. The focus is on habitat type maps, specifically the creation of T1 and T2 maps as updates of the available T0 and T1 maps. Also included is support for answering questions about habitat type maps, particularly in relation to permitting and management plan processes. The service primarily involves desk work (processing existing data), supplemented by field controls. The habitat type maps are delivered as a GIS file with an accompanying justification document. For nitrogen-sensitive habitat type maps, the work involves the delineation and updating of these types, also through desk work and field controls. The results are delivered as a GIS file with an explanatory report and processed by the Province of Gelderland into habitat maps for AERIUS. The exact design and scope of work for habitat type maps will be influenced by the results of ongoing method development within the national VHR-Monitoring Improvement Program (VVM).
