Nanomaterial Risk Assessment: Refining and Validating Acceptable Variation in Nanoform Characterisers

Nanomaterial risk assessment: Refining pre-established threshold values and validating them with additional data sets for nanoform characterisers. This builds upon a previous project from 2023, which developed a framework to assess acceptable variation within each characteriser of a nanoform, aiming to simplify the registration process and associated testing burden. The current contract expands the data basis beyond metallic and carbon-based nanomaterials to a wider range of chemical types. The outcome is intended to serve as a basis for ECHA to develop new guidance for registrants of nanoforms of a substance.
