X-ray Diffraction System (XRD)
X-ray Diffraction System (XRD): Procurement of an advanced and automated system to strengthen and modernize the research infrastructure of KTH and the Department of Engineering Mechanics. The system measures residual stresses and determines retained austenite content in ferritic materials, and where applicable, in other metallic materials such as stainless steels, high-strength martensitic steels, and tool steels. It ensures high measurement accuracy, reliability, and efficiency, supports ongoing and future research activities, and strengthens KTH's capacity in X-ray based analysis of residual stresses and retained austenite in metallic materials.
