Heating and Cooling System Renovation for Campus Wuppertal
Renovation of the heating and air conditioning system for Campus Wuppertal: The entire heating supply is provided via a district heating connection from Stadtwerke Wuppertal, converted via a district heating transfer station and distributed via two heating distributors. One distributor supplies ventilation units East and West, radiators, and domestic hot water preparation; the other distributor, with a pre-connected separation heat exchanger, operates in a 4-pipe system. Radiators are provided for WC areas, stairwells, and ancillary rooms. Office, meeting, and common areas, as well as special areas (event, canteen), receive suspended ceiling sails for heating and cooling. Cooling is generated by two chillers in the central heating plant, with recooling via two water-cooled recooling units on the roof. After buffering (maximum 12 m³), distribution occurs via two outlets for ceiling radiant panels East and West. Refrigerant R515 B is used. Distribution from the central plant leads to six stairwells, each featuring a shaft for riser distribution across all 5 floors (12 per floor). A switch to a 2-pipe system takes place there, supplying the ceiling sails of the office fingers via two heating circuit distributors and individual room control. The shafts also contain risers for the air heaters of the ventilation systems on the roof. Distribution on the ground floor runs parallel to the ceiling radiant panels. Additionally, climate split units are installed for electrical rooms, with multiple indoor units connected to one outdoor unit, using R410 A as refrigerant. All piping systems must be insulated according to GEG, fire protection measures and professional fastening technology must be considered.
