SAP S/4HANA Utilities Landscape for MARS Pioneer Project

Introduction and further development of an SAP S/4HANA Utilities landscape for the business processes of the distribution system operator and metering point operator: two-stage realization of a near-standard, integrated, and scalable solution architecture. The first stage focuses on providing a marketable product for the market roles of distribution system operator (DSO) and metering point operator (MPO). The scope of services includes technical consulting, conception, implementation, migration, go-live, knowledge transfer, and stabilization of the solution using established SAP methods and architectural principles. This includes the consistent use of SAP standard functions, development of sustainable solution approaches, and integration of required peripheral systems and interfaces. Data protection, information security, and compliance with the client's architectural and technological specifications are mandatory requirements. Implementation is based on SWM's existing SAP Utilities landscape, expanding the established target system of the metering point operator (MPO) MUP to include the requirements of the distribution system operator (DSO) market role. Service delivery occurs in the project phases Preparation (Prepare), Analysis and Functional Design (Explore), Implementation (Realize), Go-Live (Deploy), and Stabilization and Further Development (Run) until the end of 2029. The contractor provides services including recording and structuring functional requirements, conducting workshops, creating functional and implementation concepts, and deriving and implementing functional and technical solutions. A key component is the technical implementation of defined requirements, including customizing services, implementation of enhancements, development and connection of interfaces, creation of technical documentation, and ensuring integrability. Suitable testing procedures are to be planned, executed, and documented, specifically integration, departmental, acceptance, and production-preparation tests. Furthermore, the scope includes the planning and execution of data migration (analysis, migration concept, test migrations, productive migration, stabilization) and cutover (dress rehearsal, preparation of go/no-go decisions, transfer to productive operation). To ensure project success, training, knowledge transfer, documentation, hypercare, and empowering the organization are included. Additionally, services for application operation and continuous further development of the solution may be commissioned. Collaboration takes place in close coordination with the client's responsible parties, using specified methods, processes, and tools.
