Engineering structure planning according to § 43 HOAI for the expansion of capacity, upgrade, and modernization of the Hauptbahnhof Oben (HO) subway station, lines U4/U5, at Munich Central Station: The underground existing structure, built using diaphragm wall-top-down construction in the 1980s, will be structurally adapted during ongoing subway and passenger operations. Planning services include the constructive elaboration of capacity-increasing measures, interventions in the existing supporting structure, construction states, temporary constructions, and interfaces to structural engineering, building and interior design, building services (TGA), conveying systems, fire protection, construction logistics, operation, and BIM. Central to the measure is the creation of a new intermediate level in the previously unused airspace above the approximately 136 m long central platform, including new supporting and bearing structures, connections to the existing structure, openings in existing diaphragm walls, dismantling and adaptation measures, temporary separations to the passenger area, and construction-state-related safety and operating concepts. Furthermore, the service includes the constructive planning of new escalator and elevator connections, a possible access structure, an excavation pit including shoring, the creation of accessibility by adapting the platform slab with approximately 5 cm of concrete overlay, and optional measures for the structural reinforcement of the platform slab. An open-ended bicycle parking facility with an estimated 500 to 700 parking spaces is to be considered as an option or on-call service. Planning is carried out in phases 1 - 9 and must be fully integrated into the BIM-based project execution with AIA, BAP, LOIN, LIA, and CAFM/taxonomy-relevant documentation. The project period is expected to be from 2026 to 2035.
