Transformation Plan for Templin South District Heating Network
Consulting, modeling, planning, and coordination services for the decarbonization of the Templin South district heating network and for the creation of a transformation plan according to the Federal Funding for Efficient District Heating Networks (BEW), Module 1. The district heating network supplies 39 buildings with 875 residential units via approximately 3.9 km of pipeline and is currently fully operated with three natural gas boilers. The contract includes three positions: 1. General coordination and energy system modeling with overall coordination, interface management, energy system modeling for the generation park, storage and flexibility options, and the decarbonization path until 2045, modeling of network hydraulics, characteristic value and sensitivity analyses, reporting, and input for the transformation plan. 2. Deep geothermal planning services with review of the existing feasibility study, Basis of Design, preliminary design (LP 3), and approval planning (LP 4) for underground (geology, reservoir engineering, drilling site and drilling technology planning including casing design and disposal concept) and above-ground (thermal water circuit, heat pump system, operational building with building services, electrical/instrumentation/control, structural engineering, fire protection, district heating pipeline, medium voltage connection), plus special reports, regulatory pre-assessment with strategy, economic evaluation, and overall project and interface management. 3. Creation of the transformation plan with inventory analysis, target vision, measures path, decarbonization scenario, timeline, investment and cost analysis, risk and implementation assessment, and integration of results from positions 1 and 2. Additionally, infill development and network expansion in the South network area, as well as the option of merging with the North network area, are to be investigated. Evaluation criteria are supply security, economic efficiency, and sustainability in the decarbonization path until 2045.
