Traffic Management for the U5 Subway Line Construction
Traffic management for the U5 subway line construction: Planning, approval, setup, maintenance, operation, and dismantling of temporary traffic guidance and safety measures in public road areas. This includes the creation of traffic sign and traffic guidance plans, including necessary geometric checks, coordination with authorities, preparation and obtaining of traffic regulatory orders and other permits. Furthermore, plans for detour and warning signage are to be developed, and the associated coordination and approval processes carried out. The physical implementation involves the supply, setup, maintenance, control, upkeep, and adaptation of temporary protective barriers, traffic signs, barriers, provisional road markings, and portable traffic light systems, including control, detection, and communication equipment. It also includes the programming, setup, commissioning, operation, monitoring, and adaptation of temporary traffic light systems, as well as their coordination with adjacent existing traffic light systems. Regular controls and adaptations to changed traffic and construction processes are to be performed throughout the execution period. If necessary for traffic safety, winter services (clearing and gritting) for the used traffic areas are to be provided. Services are primarily rendered on inner-city main roads, applying RSA (Guidelines for Securing Work Sites on Roads), ZTV-SA (Additional Technical Contract Conditions and Guidelines for Safety Work at Road Work Sites), and RiLSA (Guidelines for Traffic Light Systems). This is a qualification system; tenders will commence earliest from September 2026 and will only involve qualified companies.
