Shoring for Ice Storage at Am Castrum Primary School

Shoring for ice storage at Am Castrum Primary School in Gehrden: Construction of a watertight bored pile wall as excavation shoring for an ice storage unit on a parking lot. The work includes removing 1,000 m² of paving, installing 600 m of bored piles and 60 m² of soldier pile wall, 1,100 m³ of excavation (including bored piles) to a depth of approx. 1.0 to 1.5 m under archaeological supervision, and 350 m³ of backfill material. A 1.5 m deep swale will be constructed outside the bored pile wall. The working space will be backfilled with gravel, and the ice storage unit will be covered with 1 meter thick base course material for uplift protection. Steel girders and timber shoring will be dismantled, bored piles will remain in the ground.
