Connection of Freiburg West Heating Network to Geothermal Supply
Construction of a district heating pipeline for connecting the Freiburg West heating network to the geothermal supply: a total of 730 m of district heating pipeline as a single pipe, primarily DN300 plastic-jacketed pipe (KMR) in insulation series 3 with a "nordisch" leak detection system. A branch to VAG in KMR DN200 and a branch below Adelheit-Steinmann-Straße in KMR DN250 are included. The scope covers earth-installed fittings (ball valves, vents, cable entries) and the co-laying of an empty conduit package consisting of 3x DN50. Installation takes place in roads and unpaved terrain, followed by surface restoration. Crossings include a culverted ditch, two smaller channels, and a main sewer in DN3040. The district heating pipes are to be bedded in sand or fluid soil depending on the construction section. For crossing tram tracks in the Opfinger Straße area, a pipe jacking method will be used, involving the pressing of two DN600 protection pipes over approximately 21 m, each containing a KMR DN300. Start and target pits must be constructed. All other crossings will be carried out using open trench methods. Traffic regulations must be implemented, and all technical and legal norms and regulations must be observed.
