Construction Works for a Green Mobility Corridor in Alba Iulia
Construction works for a road corridor in the southwestern zone of Alba Iulia, connecting Bulevardul Revoluției and Ion Lăncrănjan street with Bulevardul Ferdinand I and the ring road. The corridor includes a Category II street with a length of 2.3 km and a design speed of 50–60 km/h. The street profile includes four traffic lanes (two per direction), dedicated public transport lanes, sidewalks on both sides, one-way bicycle paths, green spaces, and six bus stops. The main surfaces and lengths are: 20,699 m² of carriageway, 15,422 m² of dedicated public transport lanes, 4,700 m of bicycle paths, 11,723 m² of sidewalks, and 12,224.66 m² of green spaces. The route crosses Brândușei and Orlea streets via two overpasses at km 0+575 (minimum clear height 5.50 m) and km 0+835 (clear height between 4.20 and 4.50 m). The project includes road safety works and rainwater collection and evacuation: installation of 201 road signs, longitudinal and transverse markings, pedestrian crossing markings, arrangement of pedestrian crossings on a red anti-slip background, green marking of areas where bicycle paths cross the carriageway, resonant markings near the roundabout, drainage systems designed for high-intensity rainfall. Landscaping involves planting 660 trees and installing 59 benches and 68 waste bins. The modernization of utility networks includes 1,845 m of water supply network, 2,582 m of domestic sewage, 2,682 m of storm drainage, the installation of 116 manholes, 91 inspection chambers, and three hydrocarbon separators. The procurement also includes design and execution works resulting from the coexistence study for the protection, diversion, relocation, replacement, modification, or decommissioning of existing affected networks and installations. This includes the design and execution of works on 0.4 kV and 20 kV electrical distribution networks. The low-voltage component (0.4 kV) comprises the construction of an approximately 1,331 m long underground electrical network, the installation of 11 distribution boxes, four measurement and protection blocks, and four poles, the restoration of consumer connections, the establishment of earthing installations, and the decommissioning of the existing overhead electrical network (including the dismantling of 26 poles and associated conductors). The medium-voltage component (20 kV) includes the replacement of the overhead transformer station PTA 173 Alba with a concrete-enclosed transformer station PTAB 173 Alba (equipped with a 250 kVA transformer, 20 kV and 0.4 kV installations, protection, control, and SCADA integration equipment), the realization of LES 20 kV circuits, the relocation of the medium-voltage network in the area of the intersection with Brândușei street, the installation of new poles, the decommissioning of existing installations, and the restoration of areas affected by the works. Public lighting will be implemented through 129 modern, energy-efficient systems with remote management. The corridor will also be equipped with IP video cameras for site surveillance, further items as per the tender documents.
