Construction works for baggage handling systems in Terminal 3, Frankfurt Airport

Construction works for baggage handling systems in buildings 601 and 602 of the main terminal building at Frankfurt Airport, Terminal 3. The measures include the expansion of two baggage reclaim carousels and two check-in points for arriving baggage in building 600, level E01, as well as the creation of two transport lines for arriving baggage (connection routes E01-EU1 between building 601, level E01, and building 600, level E01). This requires 5 ceiling penetrations (3 in building 600, 2 in building 601). Specific services include the demolition and disposal of various floor coverings (natural stone, expansion joint profiles, heated screed, foam glass) of approx. 1,600 sqm, the creation of approx. 5 penetrations in reinforced concrete ceilings, the sealing of approx. 10 reinforced concrete ceilings (including existing openings), the emptying of presumably approx. 2 underfloor heating systems, and minor fit-out works (restoration of floor coverings, screed, painting in peripheral areas). Additionally, the contract includes the implementation of the fourth transfer baggage check-in, including an additional X-ray control device, for which temporary fall protection measures, the dismantling of 1 impact protection, and floor marking works around the transfer baggage check-in are planned. Service commencement is April 2027 (dispatch of order letter), assembly/execution begins Q3 2027, and service completion is Q2 2028.
