Low-floor light rail vehicles and spare parts supply for Cologne Design, manufacturing, and delivery of up to 113 low-floor light rail vehicle units according to BOStrab and EBO for use in Cologne and on the non-federal railway lines of Häfen- und Güterverkehr Köln AG (HGK), plus long-term spare parts supply. A mandatory purchase of 69 vehicle units is required (minimum purchase quantity), with an option to call off up to 44 additional units as needed via a framework agreement. The vehicle units are low-floor trams, articulated railcars with bogies and spherical plain bearings, designed as bidirectional vehicles for operational use in single, double, triple, and quadruple traction. Key requirements include: car body shell made of steel (welded construction), vehicle width 2,650 mm (+0 mm / -10 mm), vehicle length 27.5 m to max. 30.0 m, ground clearance ≥ 80 mm, overhead line nominal voltage 750 V DC, minimum curve radius 25 m, track gradient ≤ 6 %, length of the longest maximum track gradient 500 m, track gauge 1,435 mm, maximum speed 80 km/h (designed for 85 km/h), wheelset load (axle load) ≤ 100 kN, track load max. 21.7 kN/m, bogie wheelbase 1,800 mm or 2,100 mm, nominal floor height (entry) 400 mm. Delivery of 3 pre-series vehicles is planned for the third quarter of 2030, with series vehicles delivered ready for operation from the end of 2031 on a bi-weekly basis.
