Geological Construction Supervision for the Wiesbaden-Ostfeld Urban Development Project
Geological construction supervision during explosive ordnance disposal and archaeological excavation to prevent and reduce soil impairments and to ensure the implementation of the soil protection concept according to DIN 19639. The project area covers approximately 450 hectares for housing, service, and commercial uses, with measures taking place on approximately 45 ha. The archaeological excavation will be carried out on a 36 ha sub-area within zones 1 to 7, expected to start early September 2026 and last approximately 30 months (planned end 31.03.2029), with up to 20 people simultaneously; a delayed start in March 2027 is possible. Explosive ordnance disposal will occur between September 2026 and March 2029, including the clearance of 66 explosive ordnance-relevant disturbance points in Zone 7, 4 unexploded ordnance suspected points in Zones 1 and 5, geomagnetic investigation with subsequent clearance in Zone 8, selective manual excavations and excavator digs, temporary construction site facilities and storage areas, backfilling and recultivation of intervention areas, and removal of foundation remnants in Zone 1. Layer-separated excavation, separate intermediate storage, and professional re-installation of topsoil and subsoil must be ensured. The project area is located within protection zone B4 of the Wiesbaden healing spring protection area; further items as per the tender documents.
