Electrification of the Szombathely-Kőszeg Railway Line

Electrification of the Szombathely-Kőszeg railway line: Construction of an alternating current single-phase railway overhead line system for a single-track branch line over approximately 17 track-kilometers on railway line No. 18, designed for 25 kV, 50 Hz, and an approved speed of 80 km/h. This includes the reconstruction and modification of 15 railway level crossing barrier systems and signaling systems due to electrification, including necessary track modifications. Furthermore, the required modification and expansion of GYSEV signaling systems, traffic control systems (KÖFE, KÖFI), railway area lighting, and railway telecommunication facilities are part of the scope. The power supply for the overhead line system of line 18 will be established by modifying the existing 25 kV – 50 Hz railway overhead line system at Szombathely station. Also required are plans (overhead line, lighting) for integration into the GYSEV FET system, the installation of one 100 kVA pole transformer at Kőszeg station, and the complete execution of modifications in non-railway telecommunication and power networks at 16 locations due to electrification. The works must comply with interoperability technical specifications (ÁME). Planning for construction and temporary facilities, as well as the preparation of as-built plans, are also included. The procedure involves activities requiring a building permit.
