Building automation for the new research building Laborverbundneubau IFW | ct.qmat
Building automation: Establishment of a building automation system for a complex research building with a centrally controlled automation system (BACnet/IP) and integration of all technical trades such as heating/district heating, refrigeration systems/chillers/re-cooling units, drinking water, demineralized water, wastewater, compressed air and technical gases, as well as room automation for offices and laboratories. Automation focus points (ASP) include 3 ASP (general) with 5 fields and approx. 500 input/output functions, 3 ASP (general) with 6 fields and approx. 2,000 input/output functions, and 4 ASP (general) with 8 fields and approx. 2,000 input/output functions. A room automation system (RAS) with various control functions is planned for 66 rooms (IFW) and 85 rooms (TUD). The scope includes the expansion of cable routes and cabling of own provided field devices/system components, the establishment, structuring, and management of an independent BA network (Layer 1 to Layer 3), as well as a management and control unit with functions for controlling, regulating, monitoring, energy acquisition and optimization, fault messages, alarming, visualization and data storage, energy monitoring, and remote access. Various bus systems (M-Bus, Modbus, KNX, DALI) are to be networked, with BACnet/IP serving as the primary communication protocol, M-Bus used for connecting meters, Modbus RTU connecting components such as fire dampers (BSK) and gas warning systems (GWA), and KNX used for data exchange with electrical and room control devices.
