Replacement of Safety Lighting System for Terminal 2, Munich Airport
Replacement of the safety lighting system in Terminal 2, Munich Airport: Works will be carried out in three construction phases during ongoing terminal operation. The existing safety lighting system must remain fully operational until the respective VOB partial acceptance. Six existing central battery systems will be dismantled and replaced by new safety lighting control units, each with three battery strings. Approximately 151 substations will be renewed or exchanged. Additionally, the necessary adaptation of the mains supply lines at the new system locations will be performed. The measure includes the exchange or addition of a total of approx. 11,000 safety lights and emergency exit signs. Simultaneously, about 7,800 existing lights and emergency exit signs will be professionally dismantled and disposed of. For system additions and adaptations, approx. 200,000 m of new cables will be laid. Furthermore, new wiring of undervoltage loops in existing distributions and between general distributors and safety lighting systems will be carried out. To adapt to the new safety lighting system, approx. 610 system-bound and approx. 1,430 system-neutral undervoltage monitors will be retrofitted. The measure includes the professional dismantling and disposal of the existing central safety lighting units, battery systems, substations, and the dismantled safety and emergency exit lights. Complete documentation for each central system must be prepared according to the documentation guidelines of Flughafen München GmbH (FMG). Acceptance will take place in sections as part of VOB partial acceptances after the completion of each construction phase.
