Friction Measurement Methods for Structured Markings and Colorings

Research project on friction measurement: Identification and validation of technically suitable methods based on the longitudinal force method with braked slip (LFC measurement method) for structured road markings (e.g., agglomerate markings) and red colorings used in Germany. The objective is to establish an evaluation basis for the friction coefficient µ of structured markings, recommend specific requirement values for friction assessment, and create a test instruction for practical application. Results are to be incorporated into the revision of EN 1436, and the applicability of the methods in suitability testing is to be discussed.

Mobility Study "Mobilität in Deutschland 2028"

Execution of a nationwide representative survey of at least 35,000 private households and 70,000 persons in the calendar year 2028: Collection of mobility behavior, transport mode usage, routes, and purposes. The survey builds on proven methods, integrates innovative approaches such as smartphone tracking, and improves the inclusion of underrepresented groups. Regional in-depth samples allow for up to 175,000 households. The study provides current mobility indicators for federal and state levels, as well as socio-economic and spatial mobility patterns, supporting the review of transport infrastructure plans, the further development of the climate protection program, and the planning of sustainable infrastructure. The data basis enables evidence-based transport policy decisions, promotes scientific research, and is available to third parties for regional in-depth samples.
