Indicator Development and Assessment of Water Health using Environmental Specimen Bank Data

Development of indicators and an integrated One Health approach for assessing water health: Creation of meaningful methods for spatial and trend comparisons of water bodies, their evaluation, visualization, and description in an online-based dashboard. The project utilizes environmental data from the Environmental Specimen Bank (UPB) and has conceptual interfaces with the UPB's TrendDNA project (2026-29). Direct comparisons between chemical contamination of human collectives and UPB environmental samples are excluded. The service includes the following work packages: project management, communication, and detailed concept; investigation concept for indicator derivation and statistical utilization of UPB data; evaluation and data scientific analysis; dashboard development; analysis of pathogens in UPB samples; synthesis and knowledge transfer, including reporting.
