Cardiotechnical Services for University Medicine Frankfurt

Cardiotechnical services for University Medicine Frankfurt (Clinic for Cardiac and Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Clinic for Anesthesia, and Clinic for Cardiology/Internal Medicine, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory): including provision of personnel, equipment, and consumables. Annually approx. 1,200 operations in two to three operating rooms with heart-lung machine (HLM) operation, approx. 300 standby procedures (primarily Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass, OPCAB), approx. 150 temporary cardiac support systems (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation/Extracorporeal Life Support, ECMO/ECLS), approx. 10–20 artificial heart implantations, approx. 5 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), and approx. 3–3.5 days standby for transapical and transfemoral valve implantations (TAVI). Provision of at least five full-time cardiotechnicians, permanent readiness in regular and on-call service (core hours Mon-Fri 07:30-16:00 or 20:00, on-call hours on weekends and holidays). Provision and maintenance of latest generation equipment according to medical device law, including safety inspections. Timely and needs-based provision of all necessary consumables in defined qualities, including consumables and equipment for ACT (Activated Clotting Time) measurements and Coagucheck PTT (Partial Thromboplastin Time) measurements. Contract duration four years.
