Laboratory Automation for Sykehuset Østfold HF

Laboratory automation system with connected analysis instruments: a fully automatic system, including middleware, conveyor belt, and pre-analytical functions (replacement of the current automation system at Kalnes). Additionally, free-standing instruments at the locations Askim, Fredrikstad, Moss, Sarpsborg, and Halden to ensure method equality and connection to a joint middleware system. Current analyses must be maintained, and the automation system must have the capacity to handle an annual increase of 4% from the analysis volume in 2025. The automation system covers the disciplines of clinical chemistry (including lowering and ionised calcium), immune chemistry, haematology, coagulation, infection serology, HbA1c, and allergy and auto-immunity. It should exhibit a high degree of flexibility regarding both the physical system and middleware, and easily integrate new analysis instruments, modules, and tests (analyses). Future expansion with other disciplines is possible. The automation system will manage the receipt and distribution of samples for other parts and disciplines within the Centre for Laboratory Medicine, addressing Hospital Østfold's activity level and development needs for the next 10 years.
