Rental of Microelectronics Research and Piloting Ecosystem Facilities

Rental of Microelectronics Research and Piloting Ecosystem Facilities: Rental of operational and production facilities for microelectronics within the Kvanttinova project in Espoo Otaniemi, including approximately 5,000 m² of cleanroom space. The project, involving VTT and several private companies, requires new semiconductor and micro-manufacturing processing equipment to be operational by the end of 2028 due to EU Chips Act funding. Construction is planned to start in autumn 2026, with the building permit granted in early June 2026. The implementer, Skanska CDF Oy, is responsible for the realization, including the acquisition of the real estate company KOY Kvanttinova Puhdastilat Maarintie 5, construction management, design leadership, and contracting with construction companies and designers. The real estate company will rent the facilities to VTT, which will then sublease them to ecosystem members. The lease duration for VTT is 25 years, with a target total capital rent value of 337 million EUR (0% VAT).
