New construction of Ballet Centre with interim use for Semperoper Dresden

Project for the planning, construction, and conversion of a new building for Semperoper Dresden: The building initially serves as an interim location for outsourced functions during an approximately two-year general renovation of the listed functional building of the Semperoper. Subsequently, it will be permanently operated as the Semperoper Ballet Centre. The new building is constructed within a building area with maximum dimensions of 26 × 26 m and a height of 18.60 m, connected via bridges to the functional building and temporarily to "Semper zwei". In its final state, the Ballet Centre includes two large ballet halls with a clear height of at least 5.50 m, changing rooms, physiotherapy and fitness rooms, offices, sanitary areas, and a permanently relocated sound studio. Additionally, an opera rehearsal stage will be created with a footprint of approx. 18.80 × 18.80 m, a clear working height of at least 7.50 m, and a turntable identical to the main stage. The appointment of architects for further planning is scheduled by the end of 2026; further items as per the tender documents.
