Qualification System for Tree Felling and Vegetation Removal
Establishment of a Qualification System for Tree Felling and Vegetation Removal: The system covers planned and ad-hoc emergency works, including ancillary services. Planned Works are routine tree surgeon works, notified and planned in advance based on surveys or recommendations by Iarnród Éireann (IÉ). Emergency Works address critical safety situations due to weather events or unforeseen safety concerns, which are time-sensitive. Successfully qualified companies will receive future tender enquiries. For contracts awarded under this system, the following qualifications are required: valid Safe Pass for employees, valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) for work on or near the railway line (training provided by IÉ), and completed manual handling training. IÉ reserves the right to issue and award Framework Agreements from this Qualification System.
