Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) for the oil and gas sector in the DRC: 12-month duration, deployment of 5 experts in total (2 international experts as head of mission and deputy head of mission, 3 national experts for social responsibility, oil and gas sector law, and public policy). Scope includes human capacity development measures and organizational and strategy advice in four thematic areas: identifying and raising awareness of environmental and social risks, strengthening management approaches and tools for sectoral environmental and social governance, improving instruments for environmental and social accountability (transparency, complaint mechanisms), and supporting capacity building for managing environmental and social risks according to the mitigation hierarchy. Outputs are a SESA for the oil and gas sector, a SWOT analysis with recommendations, socio-environmental management standards, a guide to good environmental and social practices, and draft implementing legislation for the DRC.
