Road and Civil Engineering for the Fundamental Renewal of BAB 2

Fundamental renewal of the Hanover direction carriageway of BAB 2 in the section between operating km 68+877 and operating km 79+4620, with a length of 10.583 km, including the Burg-Zentrum interchange and the Krähenberge PWC facility. The construction section includes 5 overpass structures and 5 A-structures along the federal motorway. The carriageway renewal will be fundamentally in concrete construction; the forefields of A-structures 39A, 40A, 41A, 42A, and 43A, as well as the existing asphalt surfacing in the area of the A-structures, will be renewed in asphalt construction. Traffic on the motorway must be maintained throughout the construction period, and the Burg-Zentrum interchange must remain open as far as possible, with public traffic diverted via adjacent interchanges during ramp closures. Estimated quantities include: removal of existing concrete pavement 155,000 m², removal of existing asphalt pavement 20,000 m², removal of base course with hydraulic binders 150,000 m², removal of vehicle restraint systems 22,500 m, demolition of concrete foundations VZB/VZK 175 m³, demarcation work 31,600 m, subgrade preparation with qualified soil improvement 193,000 m², carriageway renewal in concrete on ATSuB and frost protection layer 151,000 m², production of asphalt base course 9,000 m², production of asphalt binder course 13,500 m², production of asphalt surface course MA 11,500 m², production of asphalt surface course SMA 7,000 m², production of unbound layers 73,000 m³, production of reinforced concrete slot gutters 2,400 m, production of drainage pipes 11,000 m, traffic release marking 30,000 m, renovation work on bridge structures 5 units.
