Transport, Processing, and Valorization of Bottom Ash from Lyon Sud Energy Recovery Facility

Transport, processing, and valorization of bottom ash (MIDND) from the Lyon Sud Energy Recovery Facility (UTVE): Provision of a water transport system with suitable loading at dock n°2 of Port Édouard Herriot, with truck transport as an alternative for the first four months and as backup thereafter. Transport of bottom ash, reception at the contractor's Maturation and Processing Facility (IME), extraction of ferrous and non-ferrous materials (including from non-valorizable ash), temporary monthly storage of ash at the contractor's or subcontractor's IME, processing of ash into alternative materials (bottom ash aggregate) at the contractor's IME, and lixiviation analyses according to regulations. Recycling of valorizable ash in road construction occurs in three cases: valorization on a site identified by the contractor; transport to a site designated by Métropole de Lyon upon request; or provision and loading of materials into Métropole de Lyon's vehicles for valorization on a project managed by Métropole de Lyon. Non-valorizable ash is to be provided and loaded into Métropole de Lyon's vehicles for disposal at a Non-Hazardous Waste Storage Facility (ISDND). Traceability of all services is required. The facility processes approximately 250,000 tonnes of waste annually.
